Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG Specifications
Bajaj Auto has launched the Freedom 125, the world’s first CNG motorcycle. This exciting new model offers a greener and potentially more economical alternative to traditional petrol-powered bikes.
The Freedom 125 is priced competitively, starting at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom). It boasts a 125cc engine that can run on both CNG and petrol engines, providing riders with flexibility and cost-effectiveness. Bajaj claims the CNG option is 50% cheaper to maintain compared to regular petrol bikes.
The Freedom 125 comes in three variants:
- Drum (Base variant) – Rs 95,000
- Drum LED – Rs 1,05,000
- Disc LED (Top variant) – Rs 1,10,000 (all ex-showroom)
The Freedom 125 packs a 125cc engine generating 9.5 PS of power and 9.7 Nm of torque. It features a trellis frame for rigidity, telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear suspension for a comfortable ride.
Bajaj claims the Freedom 125 emits 26% less carbon dioxide and 43% less nitrogen oxide compared to a regular petrol motorcycle. It features a 2kg CNG tank under the seat and a 2-litre petrol tank, offering a 102 kms per kg mileage on CNG and a 65 kmpl efficiency when using petrol. The Freedom comes in seven dual-tone colour options, giving riders a chance to express their style.
Bookings for the Freedom 125 are open, with initial deliveries commencing in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The launch in other states is expected in the coming months. While the top-end variant with a disc brake is currently available, the other variants will be rolled out in a phased manner.
