Bajaj Chetak 35 Series launched
Bajaj Auto has launched the Chetak 35 Series, marking a significant upgrade to its electric scooter lineup which is available in three variants: 3501, 3502, and 3503. The base model 3502, is priced at ₹1.20 lakh, while the more advanced 3501 variant is priced at ₹1.27 lakh. Pricing details for the top-tier 3503 variant are yet to be announced.
The Chetak 35 Series is powered by a 3.5 kWh battery, providing a claimed range of up to 153 km on a single charge. It can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 3 hours using a 950W onboard charger. The electric motor delivers a top speed of 73 km/h and includes two riding modes: Eco and Sport, enhancing versatility for different riding conditions.
The scooter retains its retro-inspired design but features a new frame that allows for a longer seat (725 mm) and increased legroom due to an extended floorboard. Under-seat storage capacity has significantly improved from 21 litres to 35 litres, addressing one of the previous model’s limitations.
The new model boasts a range of modern features, including, a touchscreen TFT display with integrated navigation, music controls, and smartphone connectivity. Safety features include geo-fencing, theft alerts, accident detection and overspeed warnings.
With the launch of the Chetak 35 Series, Bajaj Auto aims to strengthen its position in the electric scooter segment against competitors like Ola S1, Ather 450 and TVS iQube. Deliveries for the 3501 variant are expected to begin later this month, while the 3502 variant will start deliveries in January 2025.
